Brett Gottlieb

Financial Advisor & Founder

Brett has been in the financial services industry for over 17 years. He graduated from California State University, Chico with a BA in Business Administration and a BS in Economics. He has passed his Series 65 securities exam and is also an independent licensed life insurance agent in several states. Brett has been a Registered Representative with various Broker/Dealers in the past and is now an Investment Advisor Representative. Brett's financial custodian for all client assets is TD Ameritrade, one of the largest and most respected firms in the business. He knows this relationship allows his client's access to the best platform in the industry and some of the top research capabilities available.

Brett began his career working in employee benefits consulting where he specialized in building retirement plans for the employees of larger corporations. He then took this expertise to the individual planning arena and now helps pre-retirees and retirees with retirement income planning (including Social Security maximization), investment portfolio management, tax-efficient strategies, healthcare planning (including life insurance and long term care insurance), and legacy planning.

Brett is passionate about guiding his clients on retirement income planning. He takes a common sense approach to this process and works with clients to create a retirement roadmap that helps ensure his clients receive the income they need in retirement while protecting their assets. He understands that each client has specific goals when preparing for retirement, but in most cases the underlying theme is to provide asset protection first & foremost, provide income for today and in their future, and if possible to deliver above average returns with reasonable risk. They want to know that their advisor will pay close attention to their portfolios, so they can focus on work or enjoying retirement.

John Mc Kean

Financial Advisor

John has been in the financial services and retirement planning industry for over 8 years. He has passed his Series 66 securities exam and is also an independent licensed life insurance agent in the state of California. John worked as a Registered Representative with Securities America, one of the largest independent Broker/Dealers in the country and is now an Investment Advisor Representative.

John began his career trading mortgage-backed securities for a prominent mortgage banking firm. As a self-proclaimed “market geek,” he thrived from constantly watching market fluctuations and making critical decisions that directly impacted the firm and his clients. He found immense satisfaction from aligning his clients accounts with the best strategies and solutions for their individual situation.

Today, John strives to make a positive difference in the lives of his clients and their families by building long-lasting relationships. He specializes in professional money management, independent investment advice, legacy planning, as well as helping pre-retirees and retirees with retirement income planning, Social Security maximization, life insurance, and long term care insurance.

John is a Southern California native and currently resides in North County with his beautiful wife, daughter, and son.

Serena Akinaga

Operations and Marketing Manager

Serena Akinaga is the Operations and Marketing Manager at Comprehensive Advisor. She joined Comprehensive Advisor in April of 2014 and serves as the liaison between the organization and our clients. Prior to joining the firm, Serena oversaw many aspects of client and vendor relationships for multiple companies throughout San Diego.

She is often the first point of contact for the company and ensures that all clients feel at home. Her responsibilities include company sponsored public engagements, overseeing vendor relationships, CRM data management, general office and relationship management. Serena’s main focus is to ensure we exceed client’s expectations by maintaining open communication while servicing their accounts.

As a Southern California native, growing up in San Diego, Serena enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband, daughter and son.

Jessica Prozor

Planning Support Specialist

Jessica is the Planning Support Specialist at Comprehensive Advisor. She joined Comprehensive Advisor in February of 2016 and assists with the creation of personalized financial strategies which Brett & John create for our clients. She interacts with our extensive list of investment and insurance companies. Jessica is a recent graduate from the State University of New York at New Paltz in upstate New York.

Jessica loves living in San Diego because of the sunny Southern California weather, especially since she is originally from New York. In her free time she enjoys hiking, working out and going to the beach with her friends. She especially enjoys facetiming with her family back in New York.

Jessica recently welcomed a niece to her family back home.

Sarah Siciliano

Director of First Impressions

Sarah is the Director of First Impressions at Comprehensive Advisor. Her main responsibility is cultivating long-lasting client relationships by offering first-class support and customer service. As the first point of contact at our firm, her job is integral in managing our “Client Experience” – playing a key role in welcoming clients and prospective clients into our office and maximizing the optimum client experience while delivering an understanding of the core mission at Comprehensive Advisor.

Sarah lives in San Marcos and is originally from Chicago. In her free time she enjoys spending time with friends and family, especially her Husband and two daughters.

Leticia Barros

Operations & Administration Associate

Leticia provides back office support and administration at Comprehensive Advisor. She joined our firm in November of 2015 and is responsible for managing the client database, assisting with bookkeeping, and helping the rest of the team with the completion of various projects on a day-to-day basis.

Leticia lives in Pacific Beach and is originally from Brazil. She is currently attending San Diego University for Integrative Studies and is working towards her second degree. She currently has an Associates degree in Marketing and hopes to work with children in her next endeavor. In her free time she enjoys reading, traveling and spending time with friends and family.
